Course Layout
The 1,163 yard, nine-hole par 3 course is set on a hilly 56 acre site. There are 27 sand bunkers on the course, and water comes into play on two of the nine holes. Many rough areas on the course are natural grass areas with a tall fescue mix which give the course a Scottish links look. The well manicured course features bent grass tees and greens with bluegrass fairways. All holes are par three and all yardages described, from tee to green, are from the back tees unless otherwise noted.

The first hole offers a 132 yard shot from an elevated tee. The spacious green offers plenty of room to land your tee shot safely. Shots right or left of the fairway will be challenging. A hill and natural rough on the right will cause plenty of trouble for any golfer. A down hill slope on the left will take your ball away from the green quickly, making your next shot more than a little challenging. The second hole is probably the easiest green to reach in one shot. A 101 yard shot with accuracy across Nickol Pond will place you on the green. Water spans the entire left side, and a natural hill rough will give you fits if you're off the fairway to the right. Once you're on the green, let the putting begin. The large undulating green makes putting a challenge. The natural beauty of the course is evident from this hole. The third hole is 149 yards, the longest on the course. A good tee shot placed on the middle of the green is important with water on the left and a large bunker on the right to capture anything hit too long. Don't think that short of the hole is the place to be, as some small knolls will make shots an uphill or downhill stance challenge. As you leave the green and head for number four, take a look back and enjoy the view of #2, #3 and #9 with the clubhouse rising above.

The 106 yard fourth hole features a 30 foot elevated green. Bunkers flank both the left and right sides of the green. The large green offers plenty of landing area, but try to be close to the pin to avoid those long putts. The panoramic view to the north from the tee includes Lake Terramere and the Terramere and Creekside subdivisions. The fifth hole is 146 yards. Although it is the second longest hole on the course, it often plays as the longest. Bunkers surround the green and are also located down the right side of the fairway. The left side of the fairway is a hilly terrain full of natural rough. As you approach the sixth hole, enjoy the view of the Chicago skyline off to the southeast. While not the toughest hole, the 140 yard shot offers plenty of challenge if you stray from the green. The green is surrounded by bunkers, so if your shot is off target, get out the sand wedge. Short shots will be grabbed in a low area in front of the green. The undulating green can be a tricky read.

Accurately placed shots are a necessity on the 109 yard seventh hole. Avoid the large fairway bunker and land your shot on the green. Too much club and the bunker on the back right side of the green will likely be where your next shot is hit from. Elevated tees on the 142 yard eighth hole make this drop shot to the green both picturesque and challenging. Getting on the green in one is most important on this hole. The contour of the ground surrounding the green makes any second shot to the green difficult. Whatever you do, avoid the bunker on the back left of the green to avoid major frustration. The clubhouse overlooks the elevated green on the 138 yard ninth hole. Shots hit short and right will roll downhill away from the green. Bunkers surround the green and are also found down the right side of the fairway. The three-tier green can be one of the most difficult greens you'll see. Regardless of pin placement or where your ball comes to rest, you're sure to have an interesting putt.
