Creekside Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement

During scheduled annual park inspections and from resident comments, staff identified and confirmed a potential hazard with existing pedestrian bridge at Creekside Park. Upon further inspection, it was determined to close the bridge to traffic until a professional structural examination could be conducted. CONTECH the manufacturer's representative for Continental Bridge inspected the bridge and confirmed that it needed to be closed and suggested replacement due to the severe rusting of the undercarriage of the structure.
A new bridge replacement was appproved by the Park Board on October 9. The next day the bridge was ordered. The bridge installation was completed four days early.
