Community Service Awards

The Park District honored our 2007 IPRA/IAPD Community Service Awards winners. These awards are in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contributions and unselfish devotion for the advancement of parks, recreation and leisure in the community and the state of Illinios.

Kristine Stabler, Arlington Park

Arlington Park Race Course has been the presenting sponsor of the Annual Park Foundation’s Golf Classic for the last seven years. The outing has been successful in the past because businesses like Arlington Park Racecourse support the Park Foundation and its mission to enhance and support the Arlington Heights Park District

Ron Buch, Northwest Community Hospital

Northwest Community Hospital, our largest sponsor, has partnered with us on just about any project we have asked. Most recently they have sponsored the Sunset Meadows scoreboard signs and assisting with implementing Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) and training staff.

Rick Ewanio, School District 23

Rick Ewanio, the Business Manager at School District 23, has been a long time Park ally. Rick has been helpful with securing grounds and building space throughout the years.

School District 23 works close and has an excellent relationship with the Park District. Allowing the gym agreement at Betsy Ross and the fields use at Patriot are two examples of our fine relationship.

Don Anderson, Swim Coach

Don Anderson has been a Swim Coach at Arlington High school and Hersey High school. Don was one of our early lesson coordinators. Don has been volunteering recently with both our learn to swim program and our inter-park swim team.

Nancy Siria, Museum Advisory

Nancy Siria has done it all as a museum volunteer; she has served on the Museum Advisory Committee for two terms and is currently on the new Advisory Committee.

Samantha Breden, Lutheran Home

Samantha Brenden, Marketing Director for the Lutheran Home. The Lutheran Home is the Arlington Tour Club sponsor. Their advertising in the Tour Club Newsletter helps defray the printing cost of this publication.

Officer Doug Hajek, Arlington Heights Police Dept.

Officer Doug Hajek is the current staff liaison between the Police Department and the Park District for National Night Out. Doug who has been involved with the event for the last three years has helped National Night Out grow with his enthusiasm.

Dan Young, Hersey High School

Dan Young has been the Boys Athletic Director at Hersey High School since 2000. Dan has been very cooperative in getting the Park District programs in the facility and on to the grounds at Hersey.

 

     
     
 

Mike Reynolds, Superintendent of Maintenance for the Public Works Department, has assisted the Park District with ground and maintenance at the Museum. Mike has also been involved and helpful with special events at North School Park.

 

     
 

Kathy Wolan takes care of many of the gardens at the Museum. She has spent countless hours weeding and manicuring the beds so they look great.
