Golf Maintenance Operations

The Arlington Lakes Golf Club, Nickol Knoll Park/Golf Course, and Sunset Meadows Driving Range include a total of 163 acres. Arlington Lakes Golf Club and Sunset Meadows were acquired for the dual purpose of providing flood control facilities for the Village of Arlington Heights and an open green area for golf. Nickol Knoll Park/Golf Course was acquired as open space, reclaiming a residential landfill, and to provide much needed recreational activities to northern Arlington Heights.

 

Operations consist of construction, development, and maintenance of the grounds and buildings of these facilities. The Superintendent of Golf Maintenance and two maintenance area supervisors are responsible for mowing various park sites and golf grounds, fertilizing, tree and horticultural programs, maintaining irrigation systems for parks and golf grounds, as well as, budgeting, supervision and equipment inventories.
