More than just bricks and mortar

The Arlington Heights Park District’s plan to renovate four community parks by the year 2016 goes beyond just building the physical environments for fun. This plan will affect and potentially transform the lives of all residents and the community. By also overhauling aging facilities in order to continue to offer innovative programming, this plan will also deliver modern, social spaces in which to connect with friends and family to create lifelong memories to share forever.

On March 20, 2012 you will be asked to vote on a $48 million bond issue that will impact the future of the Arlington Heights Park District. Approximately $44.2 million will be allocated toward improving, through renovation and new construction, the parks and community centers at Camelot, Frontier, Heritage and Recreation Parks; acquire park equipment; improve, maintain and protect neighborhood parks and facilities. The remaining $3.8 million in funds will be used for capital improvement projects that are prioritized based on community needs and park necessity at Sunset Meadows Park, Frontier Park, Centennial Park, Melas Park and Lake Arlington.  Visit the Resource Room for updated information including how to vote early
