Efforts to control and manage the impact of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), throughout the Arlington Heights Park District, has begun with the District marking park trees with green marking paint to indicate which trees are scheduled to be removed. Ash trees designated with a green dot indicate that the tree will be removed within 14 days from the day the green dot appears. (See table below)

The Park District plans to replace trees with a variety of trees in an effort to diversify its urban forest and in order to lessen the future impact of insect or disease. The District intends to replace trees within 12-months from the date of removal. Residents are encouraged to direct any questions about the Park District’s Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan to the Arlington Heights Park District’s Department of Parks and Planning at 847-577-3009.
