Rite of Passage
Is your child apprehensive about going off the diving board, big water slide, or deep drop slide? Let us help you out! On Sunday June 9 at 12 noon stop by Olympic Indoor Swim Center to try out either slide or the diving board with the help from our lifeguard staff. Our staff will ensure that your child can explore this new challenge in very relaxed setting. We will be in the water close enough to help if needed and provide words of encouragement. The only cost to you is your admission to the pool, and if you have a pool pass then this is free! This will be the only activity going on in the pool area. Public Open Swim will begin at 1 pm and you are invited to stay and enjoy the day.
Free Swim Lesson Evaluation
On June 5, June 6, and June 7 at 6 pm our professional summer Swim Lesson Coordinator staff will evaluate your child's swimming skills and tell you what level of our swim program is best suited for you. Your child will also get an opprtunity to work in a small group setting with an instructor-in-training, under the supervision of a Swim Lesson Coordinator. During this one on one time your child will get to practice some on the skills they may be struggling with. You will leave with a certificate that you can bring in on your first day of summer swim lessons that will help get you placed in the right level. These evaluations are intended for ages 3 to 12. Staff will also be available to answer any questions you may have about our program or summer schedule. Please stop by and see us. This is a free opportunity. No registration required.
Diving Show
Check out the skills of our diving instructor staff at a free diving show at Heritage and Frontier. Staff will use the 1 meter and 3 meter boards to perform a series of dives. Staff will also be available to answer any questions you may have about our dive program. The only cost is your admission to the pool, and if you have a pool pass this is free! We will be at Heritage on Friday, June 22 at 6:15 pm and then at Frontier on Friday, July 13, at 6:15 pm. In the event of inclement weather the show will be cancelled.
Splashball
What is Splashball? Think of water polo in shallow water! What a great way to get introduced to a great new team sport. Splashball will be taught in shallow water, where the participants can mostly stand on the bottom. The rules for Splashball are different than water polo. Some of the key differences are that the participant can touch the bottom of the pool, can use two hands on the ball, and there is no defensive contact allowed. Focus will be on team passing, shooting, and defensive positioning. Participants must be able to swim at least 25 yards of the pool and be comfortable in the water. Registration Info
