Travel Soccer
Parents Coach the Arlington Aces Travel Soccer Program providing players who wish to further develop soccer skills a more competitive environment while stressing sportsmanship and fun. As the name suggests, teams in this program travel outside Arlington Heights to compete against teams from other soccer clubs. Practices are generally more frequent and longer than for players in House Leage and playing time in games is at the discretion of coaches. Teams are coached by volunteer parents and train by approved club trainer.
There are two components to Arlington Aces Travel Soccer
The Arlington Aces Program consist of two components: a Volunteer coached program and an Academy (Professionally coached program). Currently all girls teams play in the Illinois Women’s Soccer League and all the boys teams play in the Northern Illinois Soccer League.
The volunteer coached program offers you an opportunity to play travel soccer with licensed soccer coaches. The volunteer coached teams will be trained once per week by a Soccer trainer and the volunteer coach will lead the on the field responsibilities during team practices and games to provide an excellent soccer experience.
The Arlington Aces Academy Program is designed for all players who aspire to reach their potential on and off the field and who seek a unified approach to total player development. Players develop by learning skills and strategies at age appropriate levels and benefit from the teaching philosophy of nationally licensed soccer professionals and youth development specialists. Academy teams are formed at U8-U19 age groups and are coached and trained by professional soccer staff. The professional soccer staff coach leads the on the field responsibilities and works with the team manager to provide an excellent soccer experience.
If you are interested in trying out for the Arlington Aces Travel Program try-outs for U8-U18 Boys/Girls and Girls U8-U14 are held in June. Dates, times and locations are available in the beginning of May and posted on our website. Tryouts for girls U15-U18 (high school age) travel teams are held in May.
Age Groups
The Aces’ travel program has boys and girls teams from the "Under-8" level through adults. Depending on the availability of players and coaches, the Aces, at the discretion of the Soccer Advisory Committee, may field one or more teams in every age group (U8, U9, U10, etc.) The eligibility for a certain age group depends on the year in which the player was born and whether the birth date is on, before or after August 1. The specific information about eligibility is provided in notices at the time of tryouts. Players may also join an older age group team if his or her skill levels meet the criteria set by the coach. An older player, however, may not play on a younger team. Photo identification "player passes" are used by the soccer leagues to ensure players from all teams meet age requirements. The passes are checked by a referee before each game.
