Arlington Heights | “On behalf of the Arlington Heights Park District Soccer Advisory Committee and John Robinson, Superintendent of Recreation, we are pleased to have Dwayne Cruz join the Arlington Aces as the Director of Soccer,” said Steve Perille, SAC Chairman. “Dwayne has all the attributes that we were looking for when we started this process.”
According to Perille, “Hiring Dwayne Cruz was the result of a month long interviewing process which included interviewing three other candidates for the position. The Soccer Advisory Committee (SAC) and the AHPD Staff felt Dwayne Cruz was the right choice to bring to the Arlington Aces and we’re confident he will help us have a fantastic spring season and will work diligently to keep the Aces program growing into the future.” Robinson added, “I know I join our players and their parents in welcoming him as the newest member of the Arlington Aces family.”
Mr. Perille pointed out, “We listened to the feedback from the parents about putting the children first during this difficult transition and the SAC advised that the trainers from the fall season be retained and hired for the spring. In addition to a new Athletic Supervisor, Matt Healy, the response to hiring a Technical Director of Soccer to the AHPD staff has been well received. We also will work more closely with the parents involved in Aces Travel Soccer (Academy and Volunteer Coach) to ensure a unified program for years to come.”
The Soccer Advisory Committee is a seven member volunteer based committee that, among other things, provides a forum for citizens to express their thoughts and ideas concerning the Arlington Aces program and to seek answers to all inquiries and problems. The Soccer Advisory Committee also helps to promote the game of soccer community-wide. The Soccer Advisory Committee meets six times a year and are held at the Administration Center located at 410 N. Arlington Heights Road. Meeting dates are listed on the AHPD soccer website. Parents, participants and the public are all welcome to attend.
“I want to thank John Robinson and the Arlington Aces for giving me the opportunity to join one of the largest soccer programs in the NW suburbs,” said Dwayne Cruz, “I am excited to come on board and I look forward to working with the Arlington Aces Soccer Advisory Committee and the families in the Arlington Heights Park District. In the past few weeks, I have personally seen, how much parents and players in Arlington Heights care about the sport of soccer, and that passion is one reason why I’m really thrilled to be here. I’m looking forward to getting to know the parents and players and can’t wait to get started. Our staff will be focused on preparing our kids to learn and develop as players while rivaling some of the top programs in the state. We’ll also work to inspire our kids and assist in moving them into the college level if that is something they are interested in as well.”
