The Arlington Heights Park District invites you to its annual kick off to the summer event. The annual Picnic in the Park event will be held at North School Park on Friday, June 10th from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. North School Park is located at the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street
North School Park will be jumping and so can kids as they enjoy a free moonwalk and an inflatable slide. Families can bring their own picnic or buy lunch from a food vendor offering traditional favorites including hotdogs and chips. All activities including face painting and balloon sculptures are FREE!

The Park District’s information booth will be filled with fun giveaways and is also where families can find out what’s in store for the summer. Information about summer camps, tennis lessons, golfing, Lake Arlington, pool passes and swim lessons are among some of the programs staff will be talking about.

Picnic in the Park is such a great way for families in the area to come out to have fun, see friends and check out what is going on the Park District this summer. We are very pleased that we have such strong sponsor support too. Without the great support from these sponsors these events hardly would be possible.” This year’s sponsors include: The Peoples’ Bank of Arlington Heights, Lavelle Law, Ltd., Our Family Magazine, All About Kids Dentistry, Jason’s Deli and Chiro One Wellness. Sponsor representatives will be on hand to talk about their businesses and will have fun giveaways as well.”

The Peoples’ Bank is committed to the community and “We are excited to be involved in Picnic in the Park once again, it is a great way to start summer with the family and we look forward to it every year,” said Frank Appleby, President of The Peoples’ Bank of Arlington Heights.

Lavelle Law’s Dan Gajos added, “We are very pleased to be a sponsor for this great family event. We look forward to getting to know many of the families in Arlington Heights and are pleased to be working with the Arlington Heights Park District as part of our new partnership agreement.”

This year, the Park District is giving Picnic in the Park attendees the chance to challenge their “Park Smarts”. Five colorful signs carrying QR codes will be placed around the park. The signs ask the reader to scan the QR code with their smartphone to view a video clue about North School and/or other Park District facilities, parks and programs. People participating will be entered for a chance to win fun prizes.
