DESCRIPTION:The Arlington Heights Park Foundation invites you to play in its Annual Pickleball Tournament on Sunday\, May 19 at Dryden Park. The fee is $100 per team. Proceeds will benefit a fully accessible playground for people of all abilities. \nTournament Details: \n\nBeginner (2.0-2.9)\, Intermediate 3.0\, Intermediate 3.5 and Advanced Divisions (4.0+)\nTeams of 2 (any combination). Players must be 16+\nRound Robin Tournament Format. 5 Game Guaranteed.\nWarm-Ups Begin 30 Minutes Before Your Division Starts with a Kickoff Meeting 15 Minutes Before\nDivision Winners Awards\n\nTournament Schedule: \n4.0’s & 3.5’s \n\nCheck-In: 8AM\nKick-Off Meeting: 8:20AM\nStart: 8:30AM\n\nWarm-ups will be available at 7:30AM. \n3.0’s & 2.5’s \n\nCheck-In: 10:15AM\nKick-Off Meeting: 10:30AM\nStart: Between 10:45-11AM\n\nWarm-ups may be available as early as 10AM but you’ll be guaranteed warm-up time before the start. \nRegistration is now closed.\n  \nQuestions? Learn more on each skill level below! \n\n\n\n2.0 to 2.5 players have limited experience\, can sustain a short rally with players of equal ability and basic ability to keep score.\n3.0 players are well versed in all the shots\, scoring and basic doubles strategy. Players can execute all shots with some success and some inconsistency.\n3.5 players can execute all the shots with consistency and directional control. Ball spin and low shot trajectories can still be inconsistent.\nLevel 4.0+ players are considered advanced. Game is played at the non-volley zone. Communicates and moves well with a partner. Understands strategy and can adjust style of play and game play according to the opponents strengths and weaknesses and court position. Limited number of unforced errors.\n\nSponsored By:

SUMMARY:Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Annual Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony\nMemorial Day Parade \nThe Village of Arlington Heights’ 105th Annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday\, May 27th\, 2024. This annual event is organized by the American Legion and Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights. \nThe parade kicks off at 9:30AM sharp. The parade begins at Arlington Heights Road and Sigwalt Street\, goes west to Sigwalt\, turns north on Dunton\, turns west on Euclid\, and south on Chestnut. (Parade map below.) The parade concludes at Memorial Park\, where the Memorial Day Ceremony takes place\, at 11AM. \nNo Sirens During Parade\nPlease note that vehicles will not honk horns or ring sirens during this parade\, as this event is intended as a memorial to those who have lost their lives\, and is not seen as a celebration. Village vehicles will ring their sirens in celebration at the Fourth of July Parade. \nCalling All Veterans! Please Join Us to Participate in the Memorial Day Parade  \nIf you served in any one of the US Military Services\, we would be most honored to have you participate in the Memorial Day Parade – and you don’t have to from Arlington Heights. All vets from everywhere are welcome!  Please feel free to “fall in” with one of the veterans organizations OR to join the groups of vets who join the parade. If you need to RIDE in the parade\, we have volunteer jeeps and trailers drive you the whole route. If you would like to participate please complete and submit the application by Friday\, May 24\, 2024. Please email greg.padovani@gmail.com for more information or if you need a ride! \nMemorial Day Ceremony: Memorial Park at 11AM \nAt the end of the parade\, the Memorial Day Ceremony honors and remembers all those who have given their lives for our Freedoms – especially Arlington’s Fallen Heroes – the 59 young men from our town who died in the service of our Nation from the Civil War through Afghanistan.  At this Ceremony\, a list of names of veterans who have passed away in the preceding 12 months will be read.
