When will ARC memberships be turned back on?

What does a member have to do to activate their membership?

Nothing. All memberships will be activated beginning October 1, 2020.

Can members show up on October 1 and drop-in to use the facility like they did prior to Covid-19?

NO.  All use in the facility is by reservation only.  Reservations can be made up to three days in advance for the fitness center, lap swim, open swim, water walking, fitness classes, and water exercise classes.  This is the same system we used all summer at the pools and ARC and it worked well.

What can members expect at ARC?

We will have a reservation system in place for member use of the facility.  All activities will take place during set times.  We have used this system all summer, and it has worked well.  For a full list of reservation time slots members can check on-line.  Reservations are limited.  We have approximately 2,700 reservation slots per week and presently we have 10,405 members.  The fitness center specifically has 1,440 reservations slots per week.  We are limited to 30 per activity session.  There is a potential that members will not be able to use the facility at their desired time or day depending on the response to memberships being activated.  We may have to limit the number of times members can use the activity per week depending on the response. If this is the case it will be clearly communicated. 

The fitness center, track, swimming pools, pickle ball, and both land classes and water exercise classes will be available for reservations.  Pickle ball will only be at ARC. Fitness classes will only be at ARC.  Most of the land based classes will take place in the gyms.  We will not have fitness classes at the community centers during Phase 4. Childcare will not be available during Phase 4.

Admission for a reserved session will not be allowed until the staff have completed cleaning from the previous session.  Members will be asked to wait outside the entry area, maintaining 6 ft of distance from others.  Members should come ready to participate in their activity.  Locker rooms are open and available, but it would be helpful for cleaning purposes if they are not used.

Upon entry the staff will have a printed roster for the activity session.  Members will show their card and scan in.

What does a member have to do to keep their membership frozen?

Members that wish to remain frozen can do so until we get to Phase 5.  Members can submit an on-line form on the ARC page to keep their memberships frozen.  Members can also come in-person to ARC to compete the form to keep their membership frozen.  Members have until October 26, 2020 to communicate that they wish the remain frozen.

When will monthly EFTs start up?

The first monthly eft will happen on October 31, 2020.  Monthly members will get all of October 2020 for free as a way to recognize the value of the lost time in March 2020.  Members lost 18 days of their monthly membership when we closed on March 13, 2020. 

Members have until October 26, 2020 to communicate that they wish to remain frozen so they do not incur the eft on October 31, 2020.

What happens to annual membership expiration dates?

Annual memberships will be extended through Summer 2021 and will expire Labor Day, September 6, 2021. This allows for all annual PlusPass and SplashPass members to have a full summer of outdoor swimming.  Extending until Labor Day 2021 gives all annual members complimentary time on their memberships.  If a member opts to remain frozen, their Charter pricing date will be extended accordingly.

How long will Charter membership pricing be extended for?

Charter membership pricing will be extended accordingly until August 31, 2022.  That will give all monthly and annual members a full two years of Charter pricing.

How will this be communicated to members?

Staff will be communicating through social media, email, and a postcard mailer.  There will be an on-line page with FAQs and information about memberships.  On the postcard mailer the key points that will be emphasized are:

  • Start-up date
  • How to freeze a membership?
  • On-line registration for reservations
  • Link to FAQs
  • Link to activity sessions times and daily schedules

Can non-residents use their membership?

Yes. Current non-resident members that wish to activate their membership will be able to beginning October 1, 2020.  We will not sell any new non-resident memberships at this time.

Can the Basic Pass be used for the track?

Yes.

Do members have to wear a face mask while in the facility?

Members must wear a mask as they come and go from the facility and while walking to and from their activity.  Members do not need to wear a mask while participating in their activity.

Will there be a punch card or daily pay option?

Current punch cards purchased for the Summer All-In can be exhausted.  We will not continue selling any new ones.  There will be no daily paid admission accepted at ARC.

Can a member downgrade a membership?

Yes.  If a member would like to change from family to a couple or individual, or move from a PLUS to FIT we will work with them and allow them to change back when we enter Phase 5.

What happens to the “All-In” Summer 2020 membership?

“All-In” Summer 2020 memberships will expire on September 30, 2020 and not be renewed.  We will communicate that with all of those members.  Some of those members do not have an ARC membership and may want to buy one.

What are the age restrictions for the fitness center?

The fitness center is open for age 14 and over.  We currently have 6 classes specifically geared for 11 to 13-year-olds.

Will there be programming in the facility?

Yes.  We will have swim team and swim lessons in the pools.  Both will impact the lap swim and open swim schedule. 

In the gyms we have exercise classes.  Staff is considering moving some of those classes, along with the equipment, to the lower level, so that the gyms could be used by our youth basketball program.  Doing that may allow for more rental opportunities at the Pioneer and Camelot gyms from other user groups.

Will fitness classes be added back to Camelot, Pio, and Recreation?That's why I bought a FitPass - because the FitPass replaced the GOLD pass and I only take classes at Camelot. this will make my decision if I keep my FitPass.

Unfortunately, no.  During phase 4 all fitness classes will remain exclusively at ARC.  Space at Camelot, Pioneer and Recreation are being used for other programming to help provide rooms large enough to ensure distancing and limit commingling in spaces over the course of a day.
