The question put forward by the Arlington Heights Park District (AHPD) to the community on the March 20, 2012 ballot addressed the needs of our facilities as determined by the AHPD after having gone through several years of master facilities planning with input from all segments of the community. AHPD realized going into the referendum that the cost of the proposed plan, and the current state of the economy were serious issues that may prevent many residents from voting in favor of the tax increase.
The overall goal over the last several months was to get information to District residents about AHPD’s existing facility needs and to see if they were willing to improve the current circumstances. Unfortunately, the election did not meet with the approval of the majority of voters.
There are many factors to consider as we move forward and your input is critical. The AHPD looks forward to continuing a mutually beneficial dialogue with the community as we move forward by solving on-going needs and concerns together.
The Arlington Heights Park District enriches the community by providing quality recreation, facilities and fun.
