Gather your friends, family, and neighbors for this community event!
The Arlington Heights Park District invites you to spend an evening in support of National Night Out. This year, National Night Out will be held at North School Park on Tuesday, August 4th. The Park District is also continuing its celebration of its 90th anniversary and the entire community is invited to the party! This community based event will be held from 5:30pm – 8:30pm, and the best part of it all is that it’s free! Moonwalks, balloon sculptors, free popsicles, popcorn, water, and soda (while supplies last), business expo, free giveaways, and a free concert are just a few of the activities planned for your enjoyment.
National Night Out is sponsored locally by The Peoples’ Bank of Arlington Heights, Lavelle Law LTD, and Northwest Community Healthcare. Activities presented by the Park District, Police and Fire Departments, music, and giveaways are just the beginning to this community event. Sponsors will be on-site greeting visitors and handing out fun freebies. You can also stop by the Park District’s Information Booth to collect a variety of cool promotional items.
Enjoy can’t miss entertainment starting at 7:00pm – 8:30pm with Spoken Four. This band promises to bring non-stop high energy performance with a variety of music everyone is sure to enjoy. You won’t want to miss this performance! So grab your friends and family to enjoy a great evening. Hot dogs, grilled cheese, and a selection of chips will also be offered for purchase.
The Rotary Club of Arlington Heights and the Arlington Heights Park District are teaming up to assist the Wheeling Township Food Pantry which is in need of food and personal hygiene items. During the month of June, 469 families used the food pantry. Many of the families count on this service during the summer months especially since the children are home and not able to get free breakfast and lunch at school.
We are asking participants that will be attending National Night Out to show what a difference our community can make by bringing an item to National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in North School Park. Rotary will have a table and be collecting the items to bring to the food pantry. Many personal items cannot be purchased with food stamps and that is why many families count on the food pantry for them.
Below is a list of items that they are in need of:
peanut butter, jelly, granola bars, tomato sauce, tuna/seafood, macaroni and cheese, cereal, syrup, bottled juice, ketchup and mustard, tomato products (diced or whole tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, soup (vegetable beef, chicken noodle)and fruit. shampoo, toothpaste, diapers, wipes, kleenex and toilet paper.
