The recent sleet and freezing rain storm event of December 28, 2015 has rendered many paths slippery and in some cases difficult to cross. Park staffs were able to get to all 58 park sites at least once during the day and evening of the 28th but overnight those paths froze over again.

Snow removal machinery is not able to adequately remove the thick ice without also taking up turf and doing damage to the paths. In the interest of safety we ask that you be extra careful when walking in the parks. Staffs will be out again this week trying to break up the ice and the warmer temperatures should also help. In the meantime, please visit our indoor walking track at Camelot Park or contact your nearest community center for open gym hours when you can walk indoors.
