2020-21 Condition Report
The Park District makes ice between December 15 and February 15- weather permitting. The Park District does not utilize refrigerant coils for establishing ice rinks. Making ice requires a prolonged period of time when both the daytime and evening temperatures remain below 22° with several inches of frost in the ground. To prevent damage to the ice surface, please refrain from entering ice rink areas when they are posted as closed.
Arlington Heights Park District prohibits ice skating on any pond or lake. The constant flow of water does not allow them to freeze solid enough for skaters.
This page will be updated on a regular basis during the season when conditions are favorable for ice making.
Thank you.

Status is updated and sled hills will be open when adequate snow cover will allow for safe sledding. Currently, due to icy conditions and difficulty traversing up the sled hills, we have closed them until further notice. The sled hill lights will remain OFF until more snow occurs which will make climbing up the hill easier and safe.
Additionally, sledding is only allowed in designated areas where sled hill rules signage is posted. Areas posted with signs prohibiting sledding are not scheduled for inspections.
