2018-19 Condition Report
The Park District makes ice between December 15 and February 15- weather permitting. Making ice requires a sustained period of time when both the daytime and evening temperatures remain below 22° with several inches of frost in the ground. This page will be updated on a regular basis during the season when conditions are favorable for ice making. To prevent damage to the ice surface, please refrain from entering ice rink areas when they are posted as closed .

In an effort to be both fiscally responsible, and conservative with our valuable water resources, ice rinks are not maintained after February 15th. This is due to the lengthening days and warm sunlight on the surface of the ice that occurs this time of year. History has shown, efforts to continually apply water quickly melts during the daylight hours and runs off or is absorbed in the warming ground.
All ice rinks are closed for the season.

Status is updated and sled hills will be open when adequate snow cover will allow for safe sledding. Sledding is only allowed in designated areas where sled hill rules signage is posted. Areas posted with signs prohibiting sledding are considered unsafe and not scheduled for inspections. Bathroom facilities are open at Sunset Meadows from 6:30 am - 9:00 pm.
