Chicago Pedway Tour
Chicago, IL - Thursday, January 10

The Pedway (Pedestrian Walk-Way) spans nearly five miles, and it is an assortment of underground corridors, building concourses, food courts, train stations. You will learn all about the history of the Pedway and during this guided tour, you will navigate nearly 1¼ miles of this unique urban terrain. Tour begins at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Then off to the Cultural Center where we will view the world’s largest Tiffany Dome while listening to stories about the Tiffany family. Next we will view the world’s largest Tiffany Ceiling in Macy’s Department Store. At the Daley Center hear, stories of Chicago’s past and present. See the spot of the infamous “Blues Mobile scene” from the “Blues Brothers” movie. City Hall is not only breathtaking but hurried and full of bustle as politicians make their way to and from the Mayor’s office or Chicago City Council Chambers. Lastly, the tour concludes in the State of Illinois Building.

A late Buffet Lunch will be at Market Creations during the tour with treats along the way!

Unique One of a Kind Culinary Event at Field Museum

First Bites Bash is the official kick-off event for the 12th annual Chicago Restaurant Week. Join us inside the Field Museum for savory and sweet food tastings from more than 65 of Chicago's most celebrated chefs and restaurants. Joe Flamm, Executive Chef  and winner of Bravo's Top Chef Season 15, will serve as Host Chef of this year's event. He’ll be joined by Host Mixologist Jarmel Doss, assistant bar director and winner of the first Chicago STARS Mixology competition. Limited number of tickets are available for this special event.

As we float on over to The Tiki Terrace, the number one Hawaiian Restaurant and Tiki Bar in the Chicago area featuring: live entertainment, Hula dancers, and tropical drinks. The lunch and show combination will transport you to the Islands as they take you on a journey through Polynesia.  Get ready to hang loose and have some fun, all while enjoying some authentic Hawaiian food!

Prior to the show, The Tiki Terrace Chef will prepare  delicious Polynesian entrees, served family style. Soft Drinks, Coffee/Tea are also included. You may choose from an array of Tropical Island beverages at an additional charge.

Lunch at Manny’s Deli, a Chicago Classic, includes  an entrée choice of Corned Beef, Turkey or Pastrami Sandwiches, including a Potato Pancake and Fountain Drink or Coffee.

Love Me Tender (Valentine's Day Lunch)
Palatine, IL - Thursday, February 14

Elvis will be in the building!  Join your Park District friends at the Cotillion for an afternoon with Windy City Elvis Impersonator, Michael St. Angel. Not only does Michael have the look and the moves, most importantly Michael St. Angel has the voice, making his performance and presentation a valued and professional production from start to finish.

Today’s menu will include Cream of Potato Leek Soup, Baked Ham, Parisienne Potatoes, Green Beans Almondine and Strawberry Parfait for dessert.

This luncheon will be held at the Cotillion, located at 360 S. Creekside in Palatine near Route 53 and Northwest Hwy.

*Tickets are not sold at the door. This is a contracted event and non-refundable. Please notify the Park District of any food restrictions when you register, not the day of the event.

Doors open at 11:00am and lunch is served at Noon.

Legends of Country (Lunch & Show at The Fireside)

Everybody loves country! Imagine seeing six of the biggest country artists of all time in one great performance! We’re talking about LEGENDS! Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Brooks and Dunn, Shania Twain, and Johnny Cash! They’re all together in one truly unique entertainment experience presented by LEGENDS IN CONCERT live on The Fireside stage! Direct from Las Vegas, LEGENDS IN CONCERT re-creates the unforgettable concert appearances of these show biz superstars. Using only their natural voice and talent, they create a performance so real that you would swear that these legends are right there in front of you. It is a once in a lifetime experience for country fans of all ages!

FRIENDS! The Musical Parody (Breakfast / Lunch at Yolk)

FRIENDS!  The  Musical  Parody  is  the  comedic  musical  that  lovingly     pokes fun at TV’s FRIENDS, celebrating the adventures of your favorite group of 20 something friends as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life, and love in 1990’s Manhattan. It’s a typical day at New York’s only coffee shop, Central Perk, until an unexpected runaway bride enters the picture and kicks the whole gang out of second gear! The new musical recreates our favorite moments from all 10 years of Friends through an uncensored, fast-paced, music-filled romp.

We will start with a late breakfast or early lunch at Yolk. You may choose  from a special menu the day of the tour. After the show, let’s meet our “Friends” at the coffee shop, Café Integral, for a cup of coffee.

You have a lunch/no lunch option on this tour. If you choose the no lunch option you will have time to go on Michigan Avenue to eat or shop.  If you choose to have lunch at the Grand Lux Café there is an entrée choice of Steak Au Poivre, Chile-Crusted Steak, Fresh Grilled Salmon or Chicken Supreme. Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies and Soda, Coffee or Tea are included.
