Holiday Day Camp

This all-day camp is a mini-version of the Park District's Summer Day Camp program (Sunny Meadows/Arlington Adventures). Each day we'll have sporting activities, crafts, movies and go outside - weather permitting. The Park District provides lunch on December 22 and December 30.

Program Time & Location
Holiday Day Camp runs from 7am-6pm.  We ask that children are dropped off by 9am.  Children can get picked up any time after 3pm.

Drop off & Pick up will take place in the Pioneer Activity Rooms B/C (across from Art & Dance room).

Outdoor Play
Since we will be spending the entire time inside, if it’s not too cold, we would like to go outside for a limited period of time each day. Please make sure your children bring snow pants(if there is snow), gloves, boots and an extra pair of socks to camp each day.  If the weather permits and there is no wind chill, we will go outside and play for a short period of time.  If you do not want your child to go outside, please inform the staff.

Lunch and snack
Please make sure your child brings a lunch and drink every day except Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 30.  On those days we will have pizza and provide water to drink. We will eat lunch at Noon each day.  Snacks will be provided in the afternoons around 3:30 pm each day.  Breakfast is not provided.
*If your child does not like the lunch choices, please have them bring their own lunch every day to camp.

Personal items from home, misc.
Cell phones will have to stay in your child’s backpack. If they need to contact home, we can allow that. Please use discretion when allowing your child to bring any toys or games from home. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Allergies or medication
Please make sure you fill out the information regarding allergies for your child and that you communicate this personally to a staff member.

Emergency contact information and authorized pick up
Only a parent will be authorized to pick up the child.  We will be enforcing the authorized pick-up rules and need a written note if there is a different person who will be picking up your child.   If you need to leave an additional emergency contact name with us, please give the contact name/number to the site director.

Daily schedule of activities
Staff has worked hard to plan the agenda for this camp and our goal is to move the children through a variety of activities each day. A separate listing of activities planned is available for pick up on the first day of camp at Pioneer Park.

Field trips
We have special performances planned to visit the camp at Pioneer Park on 12/20 and 12/28. The participants will remain at Pioneer the entire day. On 12/30, the campers will be bused to Elk Grove Bowling Alley (53 S. Arlington Heights Rd, Elk Grove Village). Buses will leave Pioneer Park at 9:30 am and will return at approximately 1:00 pm.
