AS OF FEBRUARY 2, 2021 OUR REGION, REGION 10, IS IN PHASE 4.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced on Tuesday, February 2 that our region, region 10, was moved to Phase 4.
Phase 4 is very similar to what was allowed in Tier 1 for parks and recreation. It is not a return to normal operations. It is still important when you visit our facilities and parks to wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands frequently. We are in this together. We are all excited to get back to the business of fun and by following best practices we hope to keep heading in the right direction.
Below is our current operational plan for Phase 4. It remains the same as it did in Tier 1.
The Arlington Heights Park District continues to closely follow recommendations from the Governor’s office, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) as it pertains to public parks and recreation activities and facilities. We are currently offering as many programs and facilities as we can presently and will communicate updates via our website www.ahpd.org and social media: On Facebook, Twitter, Instagram @AHPARKDISTRICT
Golf Operations: Arlington Lakes Golf Club, Nickol Knoll Golf Club, and Sunset Meadows Driving Range are closed for the season. Rentals are available at Arlington Lakes for group sizes of 50 and under based on the current state guidelines.

Program registration will continue to be completed online. Historical Museum Gallery & Pop Shop hours are currently Fridays 10am-4:30pm and Saturdays 10am-4:30pm.

Outdoor Tennis/Pickleball Courts: Are open depending on the weather. Playing singles is preferred, but not required. Please do not shovel off snow or ice from the courts as it damages the color coated surface.
AHPD Programs: Following physical distancing guidelines in Phase 4, in-person programming is permitted. The District will continue offering a variety of programs, including virtual options, for those who may prefer it. This includes Dance and Early Childhood Music based programs.
Youth Athletics: Many youth athletic activities will begin on February 8. We have openings for Pre-K Soccer, Junior Aces Soccer, Aces Indoor Soccer for 1st – 4th grade, Futsal, Youth Basketball classes, and our Youth Basketball League.
Arlington Heights Senior Center: The Senior Center is open for registered program participants with modified hours Monday – Friday 8:30am-3:30pm. For information about programs that are currently running, call the Arlington Heights Park District Senior Center desk at 847-797-5341.
Children At Play (CAP): Children at Play is in the process of transitioning out of hybrid learning and into our traditional before & after care hours for enrolled CAP families at D25 schools. CAP families should check their email for information or call 847-577-3000.
Community Center Indoor Gyms: Phase 4 does NOT allow for open gym play. Indoor gyms at Camelot and Pioneer have individual basketball sessions for one-person per hoop, age 11 and over. Parks and Lake Arlington: All parks are open to take a walk, jog or run. Playgrounds are open. The Lake is currently open for biking, running, walking. The fitness area is also open.
Athletic fields are open, including Sunset Meadows. However, if covered in snow, please do not shovel or remove snow from fields, including Sunset Meadows. Removing snow can damage the sport turf surface.
The Park District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to close any park properties at any time, should it become necessary.
Park Shelter and Facility Rentals: We will accept reservations for park shelters, picnic sites, athletic fields, rooms, and indoor gym rentals. www.ahpd.org/parks/facility-rentals/
Ice Rink and Sled Hills: The Park District makes ice between December 15 and February 15- weather permitting. The Park District does not utilize refrigerant coils for establishing ice rinks. Making ice requires a prolonged period of time when both the daytime and evening temperatures remain below 22° with several inches of frost in the ground. To prevent damage to the ice surface, please refrain from entering ice rink areas when they are posted as closed.
Arlington Heights Park District prohibits ice skating on any pond or lake. The constant flow of water does not allow them to freeze solid enough for skaters.
This page will be updated on a regular basis during the season when conditions are favorable for ice making.
We are in this together and everyone needs to do their part by complying with the current state guidelines for our region. On behalf of the Board of Park Commissioners, and Staff, thank you for your patience and understanding. Be well and please stay informed by visiting www.ahpd.org/coronavirus/. We also encourage everyone to follow us on social media: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
