STATE OF THE PARK DISTRICT #5 - UPDATES RELATED TO COVID-19

AS OF OCTOBER 28 OUR REGION, REGION 10, IS IN TIER 1 MITIGATION.

The Arlington Heights Park District continues to closely follow recommendations from the Governor’s office, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) as it pertains to public parks and recreation activities and facilities. Golf Operations: Arlington Lakes Golf Club and Nickol Knoll Golf Club – Courses are open as long as the weather cooperates. Please check the website for updates.  We encourage you to book tee time reservations online and view safety guidelines at Arlington Lakes Golf Club and Nickol Knoll Golf Club. Rentals are available at Arlington Lakes for group sizes of 25 and under based on the current state guidelines.

Sunset Meadows Driving Range – The driving range is open at 50% capacity as long as the weather cooperates. Please check the website for updates.

Facilities and Historical Museum – Community Centers and the Historical Museum will be open for registered program participants only as programming resumes. Program registration will continue to be completed online.  Historical Museum Gallery & Pop Shop hours are currently Fridays 10am-4:30pm and Saturdays 8:30am-4:30pm. 

Tennis Clubs – Tennis Clubs are open.  The fitness center at Forest View is open.  Please visit our website to view safety guidelines. View guidelines:  www.ahpd.org/tennis/.

Outdoor Tennis/Pickleball Courts – Are open with restrictions and depending on the weather. Playing singles is preferred, but not required.

AHPD Programs – Following physical distancing guidelines in Phase 4, in-person programming is permitted. The District will continue offering a variety of programs, including virtual options, for those who may prefer it.

Arlington Heights Senior Center – The Senior Center is open for registered program participants with modified hours Monday – Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.  For information about programs that are currently running, call the Arlington Heights Park District Senior Center desk at 847-797-5341. 

Children At Play (CAP) – Children at Play will resume when our area school districts are able to return to the traditional in-person learning schedule.  In the interim, CAP PLUS is being offered while students are in remote & hybrid learning formats.  During this recreational based program, students have time to log-in to their eLearning and will have opportunities to do crafts, play games, and finish homework assignments.  You can learn more information about CAP PLUS at 847-577-3000.

Indoor Gyms – Indoor gyms remain closed to drop-in play.  We are happy to be offering our youth basketball program and several other youth athletic classes with restrictions. 

Camelot Track – Opens beginning on November 1.  Reservations are required.  To make a reservation, residents must have an ARC membership or the CenterPass.  Users must swipe in at the desk and have the staff confirm they have a reservation.  The CenterPass is a free membership available only to residents.   We will also welcome back any non-residents who have a current membership, but we will not sell new memberships to non-residents.  You can get your membership card at Camelot during any of the track session times you see below.  Once you have your membership you can reserve your spot on-line.  Hours are: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 45 minute sessions - 8:30 am, 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 4:30 pm. 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm, and 8:30 pm; Saturday and Sunday’s for 45 minute sessions at 8:30 am, 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm. 

Canine Commons Dog Park – Canine Commons is open. Please wear a face covering if social distancing cannot be maintained. See dog park guidelines: www.ahpd.org/facilities/canine-commons/.

Arlington Ridge Center (ARC) – ARC is open for fitness center use, track use, inside land exercise class, indoor pickleball, lap swim, open swim, water walking, and water exercise. There are group size limits for each. All current ARC memberships have been reactivated.  Members have been communicated with several times in September and October about how to freeze or cancel their memberships.  As we evolve and update our plans we will share them with the community through our social media channels and website at www.ahpd.org/arc/ and Follow us: On Facebook @ARLINGTONRIDGECENTER; On Twitter and Instagram @arc_ahpd. Guest Services staff are available for in-person registration at Arlington Ridge Center Monday – Friday 5:30 am to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 7:30 am to 3 pm. They may also be reached by phone at 847-577-3025.

Parks and Lake Arlington – All parks are open to take a walk, jog or run. Playgrounds are open.  The Lake is currently open for biking, running, walking, fishing and privately owned boats with a lake sticker. The fitness area is also open. 

The Park District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to close any park properties at any time, should it become necessary. ‚Äč

Park Shelter and Facility Rentals – We will accept reservations for park shelters, picnic sites, athletic fields, and indoor gym rentals. www.ahpd.org/parks/facility-rentals/ We are not accepting rentals for meeting rooms or birthday parties.
