The Eternal Flame is now at Memorial Park in Arlington Heights

Drive to Revive Committee and Historical Museum Reveal Dedication Day Details

Arlington Heights, IL – “The beauty of this unique tribute to our veterans and their families is matched by the commitment of all the people who made it happen - from the Drive to Revive Memorial Park Committee (who have been working for more than 5 years) to the Arlington Park District Foundation who support us in so many ways to the many veterans supporting our efforts to our many donors to the artists who created this sculpture to the crews from AH Park District, VAH Police, VAH Public Works, Troost Monument Company and, of course, the people of Arlington Heights.” Greg Padovani, Chairman of the Drive to Revive Memorial Park Committee

The bronze Eternal Flame sculpture, designed by noted Arlington Heights sculptor, Fran Volz, stands at 15' tall and is in the shape of a flame. The installation of the sculpture was completed on Friday, October 14 when it was placed at the center of the plaza containing the commemorative bricks for individual veterans. The Eternal Flame sculpture represents an eternal remembrance and gratitude for the service and sacrifice of all veterans and their families. The Drive to Revive Committee hopes the Eternal Flame sculpture will become one of the most recognizable images in Arlington Heights.
