US Airforce band to play in Arlington Heights

Hot summer nights filled with cool music continue at the Arlington Heights Park District. On Wednesday, August 29 the United States Air Force Band of Mid America will be represented by Shades of Blue. Be a part of this free event with your entire family. Shades of Blue will take the stage at North School Park at 7:00PM. There is no better way to end your summer and get ready for the fall.

Shades of Blue is made up of 18 professional musicians many of whom are talented composers and arrangers themselves. Musical stylings will be shared ranging from big band jazz to contemporary, modern jazz, swing and more. The band has also had the opportunity to share the stage with other jazz artists including Allen Vizzutti, Jeff Jarvis, Shelley Berg, and Walt Levinsky, just to name a few.

Shades of Blue has been featured at a number of events throughout the midwest. This summer they have appeared at Kansas City Riverfest, the City of Alton’s 175th Anniversary, Wisconsin Summerfest, and the Rockford Air Show. In the past they have performed the National Anthem for the Chicago White Sox, as well as for crowds at the Chicago Bulls. Not forgetting their roots, Shades of Blue performs for troops abroad and tribute the Air Force throughout the show. Before your summer comes to a close join Shades of Blue as they entertain Arlington Heights at North School Park on Wednesday, August 29 at 7:00PM. This is a free event.
