BILL SPICER
Bill Spicer, born in 1953 in Oak Park, dedicated much of his life to supporting the Arlington Heights youth. He was the president of the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association (AHYAA) since 1989. His efforts led to AHYAA working closely with the Arlington Heights Park District creating a strong relationship between the two. Not only was he the president of AHYAA, but he was also a founding member of the Prospect High School Performing Arts Endowment and the President of Prospect High School Band Boosters.
In addition to all of this, Bill was also an IHSA referee, umpire and coached baseball, basketball and soccer. Bill Spicer was someone who understood the significance of living for others and investing in people. Bill passed away on March 24, 2013, after fighting a form of leukemia called MDS. His volunteer work inspired many, making a difference in the world.
Bill Spicer will be remembered because of his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and passion for friends, family and kids of all ages.
