In the spirit of cooperation, students from Olive School will be using the Greens Park playground and basketball court area throughout their school day during the Olive School construction scheduled for the 2015-2016 school year.

Greens Park is a cooperative of the Arlington Heights Park District and Arlington Heights School District 25, whose Olive School shares the Greens Park area. Olive School will be undergoing construction that will begin very soon and this will temporarily remove the school’s playground and outdoor space currently used for recess and Physical Education classes. The construction will not impact Greens Park, neither the playground nor the outdoor basketball court.

During construction and in particular during the lunch/recess time of 12:10pm through 1:10pm the Greens Park playground will be extraordinarily busy with students. Additionally, physical education classes may also be using the basketball court area throughout the day.

We know that the Greens Park playground is a popular stop for young children in the neighborhood. During the 2015-2016 school year please be aware that the playground and basketball courts may be busier than usual as you make your decision on where and what time of day is best for your children to play. Here are nearby parks that you may wish to visit during this busy time:
  • Berbecker Park – at the corner of Miner and Wilshire
  • Carriage Walk Park – at the corner of Derbyshire and Marshall
  • North School Park - Arlington Heights Road and Eastman (must cross Arlington Heights Road)
  • Hasbrook Park - 333 West Maude (must cross Arlington Heights Road)
The Park District thanks you, in advance, for your understanding and patience during this Olive School construction project.
