The Arlington Heights Commission for Citizens with Disabilities recently recognized the Arlington Heights Park District with its annual Disability Employment Awareness Award. This award recognizes and celebrates employers who proactively hire and employ workers with disabilities because of their skills and abilities to do the job.

Executive Director Steve Scholten accepted the award on behalf of the Park Board of Commissioners and the Park District on Monday, October 19th during a special ceremony presented by the Commission for Citizens with Disabilities.

The goal of the award is to acknowledge and honor an Arlington Heights employer of persons with disabilities. With this award the Commission hopes to encourage all Arlington Heights businesses and agencies to hire and employ persons with disabilities with the education and experience to do the job.

The selection process for the award is administered by the Commission for Citizens with Disabilities.
