The U12 Boys Blue Team entered the tournament 1-3-1 in U13 division 4, with their last two games showing significant improvement, ending in a tie and win. The team entered the tournament looking to make more improvements in their possession game and finishing. They used all of the space on a huge Wheeling High School turf field and went 2-0-1 while scoring 9 goals and showing lots of great passing sequences. Playing in the championship game the boys just couldn't pull out the win but left it all on the field. Well done lads.
The U12 Girls Blue also took second place. They had gotten off to a slow start this Fall but showed rapid improvement at the tournament posting a 3-1-0 record. Offensively the girls are starting to connect with each other and have the midfielders join in the attack to create more scoring opportunities. This team has shown serious dedication to their training and it is really paying off. Great job girls!
The U9 Girls Blue played in the championship match on Sunday evening. The girls went 3-0-0 in round robin play and scored 13 goals. The best part of this team is that goals are being scored by lots of different players and several goaltenders have come up with big saves at the net. This 7-aside team has taken time to adjust to the 2-3-1 formation but when everyone joins the attack this team is dangerous. The future looks bright for these girls, keep it up Aces!
