The Executive Director's Office assists the Board of Commissioners in formulating policy and implementing those policies once established, fosters a positive public image for the Park District, and ensures that quality park and recreation services are provided for residents of the Park District.
Functions of the Executive Director's Office include coordinating efforts of the Board of Commissioners, 103 full-time staff, approximately 160 permanent part-time and 840 seasonal employees, and hundreds of volunteers for the leisure time benefit of the Arlington Heights Park District residents. The Executive Director's Office supervises the work of three major departments (Parks and Planning, Recreation and Facilities, and Finance and Personnel); supervises Golf Maintenance Operations maintaining two golf courses and a driving range; monitors 58 park sites, 23 buildings and almost 3,000 recreation programs; oversees the annual budget (approximately $26 million); and directs long range comprehensive planning and public information programs. In addition, the Executive Director's Office acts as a liaison to other agencies and units of local government as well as representing the Park District on state and national matters pertaining to parks and recreation.
