Ice Rinks & Sled Hills

2024 Condition Report – CLOSED for the Season

The Arlington Heights Park District makes ice between December 15 and February 15 (weather permitting). The Park District does not utilize refrigerant coils for establishing ice rinks. Making ice requires a prolonged period of time when both the daytime and evening temperatures remain below freezing with several inches of frost in the ground.

The Park District prohibits ice skating on any pond or lake as the constant flow of water does not allow them to freeze solid enough.

Rinks are designated for free skate and hockey for the safety of all skaters. We ask that you please respect each other.
