Memorial Park honors our community’s active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
The oldest park in the District, it is in the Historic Arlington Neighborhood just west of the library and museum campus in the half-acre triangle formed by Fremont, Chestnut and Park. From the 1920s on, Memorial Park has enjoyed collaboration between private citizens, veterans, and public bodies. The annual Memorial Day parade concludes at this site.
This sculpture, The Eternal Flame, represents our community’s remembrance of our fallen soldiers and their families.
