ARC and Recreation Park - Power Outage

Update - 11:20 am - ARC is fully open. Recreation Park has been restored, but will remain closed until 4 pm. All swimming has been moved to Pioneer. Lap swim will be open until 12 noon, and open swim will be from noon to 8 pm, weather depending.

Heritage Park - Power Outage

Heritage Park is experiencing a power outage. The pool will not open this morning until power is restored and all systems are checked and running properly. Pioneer will open at 10:15 am today only.

Special Pool Hours - July 22

All pools will close at 7 pm on July 22. Lifeguard Competition begins at 8 pm at Recreation Park. Come out and cheer on your favorite lifeguards. This event is open to the public. Team begin around 7:45 pm.

Any households submitting a "missed delivery forms" between January 26–29 will have a program guide delivered at no charge. OSLAD Grant to Enhance Visitor Experience at Lake Arlington

The Arlington Heights Park District has been awarded a 2014/15 OSLAD Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Governor Quinn announced the award on January 3rd that the Park District will receive $400,000 to implement a variety of improvements at Lake Arlington Park.

The FREE Fitness Expo will be held at the District’s newly renovated Camelot Community Center on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 9:00am – 12:30pm and the whole community is invited. Raven and Carousel Park Playgrounds Getting Updated

The Arlington Heights Park District invites residents to share their ideas and to provide input for improving two neighborhood park playgrounds. Two community input meetings per proposed playground renovation will focus on developing and/or improving the playgrounds at Raven and Carousel Parks.

Dog Park Has Home, Needs a Name.

Senior Center Presents Winter Leisure Showcase

On February 23, come out to see what the Arlington Heights Park District Senior Center has to offer! This Leisure Showcase Open House is a “Show and Tell” of spring leisure and recreation activities. From 8:30 am until Noon visitors will be able to check out information booths, view the athletic club and wood shop, as well as be entertained by performer Dan Sullivan. Dan’s performance is titled Music and Memories as he covers hits from the 40s, 50s, and 60s.

Lifeguard Competition

As Michael Phelps was racing for the final gold medal of his career, the Arlington Heights Park District was hosting a competition featuring the lifeguard staff. Although the AHPD competitors did not race for gold medals, they were able to race for their community, their team, and their pride at the 2012 Lifeguard Competition.

Occasionally the Arlington Heights Park District has had to temporarily close the sandbox portion of various playgrounds due to the presence of the Cicada Killer Wasp. You may become alarmed or frightened because of their very large size, nearly two inches.

Forest View Outdoor Tennis Court & Parking Lot Reconstruction Project

Attention patrons; two phases of the Forest View outdoor court reconstruction project are now complete. The courts are open and ready for use and the brick patio has a new permanent shade structure installed. The newly updated area looks fantastic. Lights are available on the outdoor courts September 4-November 1 from 7 am-9 pm.

The 13th Annual Irish Fest Schedule

Irish fest is a two day festival for the entire family featuring a huge line up of Irish entertainment, food, vendors and cultural programs. Understanding the Bond Structure

The District intends to issue the bonds over several years, funding projects as they are constructed, so the entire $48 million will not be issued at once. The debt retirement will be structured to be combined with the District’s current debt, a significant portion of which will be retired in the next few years.

Neighborhood Park Referendum Continuing District's Solid History Of Financial and Public Trust Stewardship

Since 1934 the AHPD has asked the community 12 times to decide if the District should make improvements to parks and facilities by agreeing to additional taxes. The community has agreed nine of the 12 times and improvements have been completed. The first referendum to be approved was held in 1936, in the middle of the Great Depression.
