Pumpkin Smash: From Gourd to Garden

Did you know…both recycling and victory gardens were popular ways people supported the war effort in the 1940’s?

Pumpkins are 90% water, which makes them bad for landfills but great for soil and gardens! Bring your post-Halloween jack-o-lanterns, gourds, and pumpkins to Frontier Park on Saturday, November 1st, from 9am to noon, and help the Park District’s EnviroGroup smash and pitch them into compostable material and help us celebrate the Park District’s 100th Anniversary 1940’s Era!
