The Arlington Heights Park District is proud to share that Frank Lesniak, President of the Arlington Heights Park Foundation Board, has been honored with the Illinois Association of Park Districts’ (IAPD) Outstanding Volunteer Citizen of the Year Award.

Frank’s commitment to enhancing the Arlington Heights Park District and the lives of those it serves truly embodies the spirit of this honor.
As President of the Arlington Heights Park Foundation, Frank has played a vital role in advancing the Foundation’s mission to support park improvements, recreation programs and community engagement efforts. Under his leadership, the Foundation has hosted successful annual events like the Foundation’s Annual Golf Outing and Pickleball in the Park, both of which bring residents together while raising important funds for future park projects.
One of Frank’s most meaningful initiatives was his work to help raise funds for the accessible playground at Recreation Park, designed to welcome and engage children and families of all abilities. His passion for creating inclusive spaces reflects his deep belief that parks should be for everyone—a vision that continues to guide the Foundation’s efforts.
