The Arlington Heights Park District is pleased to announce the transition to the Perry Weather lightning detection and weather monitoring system. This new technology will help enhance safety across our parks and outdoor facilities by providing more reliable, real-time weather information to staff and patrons.
The Perry Weather system provides automated monitoring and alerts for conditions that may pose a safety concern, including lightning. When severe weather approaches, the system helps Park District staff make informed decisions about outdoor activities and facility operations, allowing us to better protect our patrons and community.
The system is active at select Park District locations throughout the community, with additional locations planned in the future. A full list of locations where Perry Weather systems are currently in use can be viewed on the Park District’s website.
We are excited to roll out this new technology and continue investing in tools that help create safer experiences for everyone who enjoys AHPD parks, programs and facilities.
