Ice Rinks & Sled Hills

2020-21 Condition Report

The Park District makes ice between December 15 and February 15- weather permitting. The Park District does not utilize refrigerant coils for establishing ice rinks. Making ice requires a prolonged period of time when both the daytime and evening temperatures remain below 22° with several inches of frost in the ground.

Arlington Heights Park District prohibits ice skating on any pond or lake.  The constant flow of water does not allow them to freeze solid enough for skaters.

Temperatures are rising and we're looking toward spring, which means we will no long be making ice for the Rinks.  Thank you for Skating with Us!

Thank you.
